West Brom won't rush skipper Greening back

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray will not be rushing skipper Jonathan Greening back into action.

Greening has resumed light training after suffering a knee ligament setback in the FA Cup fourth-round clash with Burnley on January 24.

Mowbray said: "Jonno is not far away but I would suggest he needs some training first. I wouldn't rule the Arsenal game out - but I would suggest it will come too soon.

"I think we've got to make sure Jonno doesn't come back too early and then ends up missing another six weeks because the season would be virtually over then.

"We need to make sure we keep him for some very crucial games coming up."

Mowbray admitted: "Jonno is such an important and influential player for us and it's important we don't rush him back and suffer the consequences of him breaking down.

"In an ideal world we need to get him back and then keep him back for the rest of the season.

"It's been frustrating for him because he has never had an injury of any note before in his entire career but we have to be careful."
