West Bromwich Albion are willing to make Besiktas striker Demba Ba their record signing.

The Express & Star says Albion are ready to make Ba the highest paid player in Hawthorns history.

The Baggies are prepared to splash out a club-record transfer fee and offer wages of more than £60,000-a-week in order to lure the 30-year-old to the club from Turkish side Besiktas.

But they remain locked in a potential struggle to sign the former Chelsea and Newcastle hitman with cash-rich clubs from around the world keeping tabs.

West Brom hope that Ba's desire to return to the Premier League will work in their favour.
