Promotion winners West Bromwich Albion are unlikely to figure prominently in any transfer action before the window closes according to manager Roberto di Matteo.
The Baggies have found life tough in regards to transfers this summer and di Matteo concedes that little action will take place in the next few weeks.
"I wish I could say we have someone coming in but we are working on trying to strengthen our squad," he said in the Birmingham Mail.
"We know we're low on numbers. We want to bring in players who can help us during the season.
"I really hope something will happen over the next few days but the transfer market is difficult. One minute you're close, the next you're far away.
"Things happen as we saw last week. We are looking to fill a few more positions."
