West Brom are tracking Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman.

The Sunday Mercury says Albion manager Tony Mowbray has made a check on South African-born Surman, who has also attracted attention from Aston Villa and Everton.

Surman is under contract until the summer of 2011. But there will be a major battle to sign the 22-year-old if the Saints are relegated from the Championship.
