West Brom to offer lucrative deal to avoid Berahino strike

West Bromwich Albion are pondering making a big-money offer to Saido Berahino.

The 22-year-old has threatened to strike after failing to gain a move from The Hawthorns to Tottenham during the summer transfer window.

Berahino posted on Twitter that he would never play under Albion chairman Jeremy Peace again after he denied the striker the chance of moving to North London.

But in a bid to mend the fractured relationship between player and club, the Baggies will offer the England U21 international a £50,000-a-week deal which could also include a buyout fee of £25million, according to the Daily Mail.

Berahino is currently on £20,000-a-week at Albion but the West Midlands club want a resolution to the player's strike and will offer him more so he can fire them away from the Premier League relegation zone.
