West Brom striker Wood: Thorn, Berahino both have great futures ahead

West Bromwich Albion young gun Chris Wood believes fellow youth academy products George Thorne and Saido Berahino have bright futures ahead.

The 19-year old New Zealand international, who has starred on loan with Birmingham City so far this season, has tipped the England youth duo to go on and achieves success at the highest level.

"Both are excellent players, talented with a great future ahead of them," he told tribalfootball.com.

"George has shown that he can step up to first team football and it is good to see that Saido is doing well at Northampton.

"I feel we all represent the WBA Academy well, something we all want to do."

18-year old attacking midfielder Thorne yesterday joined former Baggies first team coach Michael Appleton for a loan with Portsmouth (alongside Joe Mattock) whilst 18-year old Burundi-born forward Berahino has scored three goals in five appearances for League Two outfit Northampton Town.
