West Brom striker Rodriguez set to present evidence to FA over racist charge

West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez will present evidence from anexpert lip-reader to help clear his name after he was charged for racial abuse by the FA.

The 27-year-old will respond to the charge tomorrow, after which a hearing date will be set from an independent three-man board.

Brighton defender Gaetan Bong accused Rodriguez of racially vilifying him during a match in January.

Rodriguez immediately denied the allegation, saying at the time he was charged: "Absolutely gutted and in disbelief at the situation I find myself in.

"I 100 per cent deny the false allegation and will take the correct legal advice to prove my innocence."

If found guilty, he will be banned for a minimum of five-matches.
