West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez has been handed an extension until March 9 to respond to an FA charge for racial abuse.
The FA charged Rodriguez last week for allegedly using "abusive and/or insulting words which included a reference to ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race".
Rodriguez has vehemently denied the claims, made by Brighton defender Gaetan Bong, with his agent describing the accusation as "disgusting".
The original date for Rodriguez to respond was February 16 but the Chairman of the Regulatory Commission has allowed the Englishman more time.
West Brom are standing by their man, who has said he was "gutted" and in "disbelief" about the charges.
