West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie is convinced being caught by TV cameras at Loftus Road scuppered his move to QPR.
Odemwingie claimed that getting pictured at Loftus Road on television killed any possible attempt at rescuing the deal.
He said: "There were two cameras that came to me when we parked and something went wrong - it wasn't supposed to be that way. The first one I told them the deal was 60 per cent done and to the second camera I said 90 per cent done.
"My only regret is that I didn't have a paper in my hand before I went to London.
"But I am aware there is traffic on the highway to London, there was no time and I had to go for medicals and everything.
"We were almost there. The club got angry that I went there and appeared on TV.
"They were not angry that I went there - but when it came out on TV, that is when they said 'that's it', the deal was off and asked why did I do that."
