West Brom striker Odemwingie: Arsenal's Arshavin struggled with ruthless English environment

West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie feels Andrey Arshavin struggled with the ruthlessness of the locker room culture in England.

Arshavin has joined Zenit St Petersburg on-loan from Arsenal.

"Football is a man's game here and you have to be ready to show your character," said ex-Lokomotiv Moscow star Odemwingie.

"Even during training players don't hold back and if you are too slow, you could get injured. You need to be aggressive and hungry for success. I don't like players who stop once they've achieved a certain level of success. Even Arshavin could play a lot better, I reckon, if he motivated himself more."
