West Brom striker Long gunning for Swansea revenge

West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long admits he's gunning for revenge against Swansea City.

The Baggies' summer signing from Reading suffered two 1-0 league defeats by the Swans last term before losing to them 4-2 in the Championship play-off final.

And he is now eager to turn the tables by firing Albion to victory over the Barclays Premier League newcomers.

"In the second half of last season at Reading we played unbelievably well to even get into the top six," said Long to the WBA website.

"Once we got there we set our sights on Wembley and went to Cardiff in the second leg of the semi-final after drawing at home and managed to win there.

"We thought after that it was just a case of winning at Wembley.

"Being 3-0 down at half-time was hard to take but we can always look back and say we gave it a shot in the second half and were unlucky.

"We knew Swansea were a very good side but we thought we could deal with them.

"I remember at home we battered them and lost 1-0, at their place we could have won by three or four and still lost 1-0!

"They're a good passing team, especially in the Championship where there aren't many teams that pass like them.

"In the Premier League I think we'll be more prepared for a team like that."
