West Brom striker Jay Rodriguez was delighted with a winning debut for victory over Bournemouth
Ahmed Hegazi, who joined the Baggies on loan from Cairo club Al Ahly, nodded the only goal of the game after 31 minutes following a free-kick from Chris Brunt.
Rodriguez had Baggies fans out of their seats within minutes of making his Hawthorns bow after forcing Asmir Begovic into three good first-half saves.
And Albion supporters soon showed their appreciation with choruses of 'Jay-Rodriguez!' to the tune of Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough'.
He said: "It's always good to try to please the fans and they got behind us."
"You really feel it as a player and as a team and it's a special thing.
"Hopefully it continues and we can keep getting the points."
