West Bromwich Albion striker Simon Cox says he's modeled his game on Real Madrid legend Raul.

Cox admits he's a big fan of Spanish football.

"La Liga is very well documented especially with El Classico," he told the Sunday Mercury.

"My game is based a little bit on Raul. He was never blessed with outrageous pace, and I have been given that gift as well thank you very much," he said with a smile.

"He is very clever and has ended up as one Real Madrid's all-time leading goalscorers so that didn't really harm his career.

"The whole El Classico is very exciting to watch which is why Spanish football is popular."
