West Bromwich Albion striker Simon Cox is happy to play anywhere for manager Roy Hodgson.
Last season Cox was deployed in a midfield role and he is happy to return to that position should the manager select him to play there.
"I don't think your modern day player has to be limited to one position because once you're limited you end up being that player," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"If you're not limited you end up being more versatile.
"Playing in the midfield gives me a bit more chance to run forward, chances to get on the ball and bring people into play.
"You get to play the whole game - you get on the ball, you do your running, your passing, and tackling.
"Sometimes when you're up front you don't see the ball for long spells, you drift in and out of the game.
"I've said before that my preferred position is up front but I'll play anywhere."
