West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson remains keen on Sunderland midfielder Craig Gardner.

The Mirror says Hodgson wants the Baggies to bring Sunderland's Brummie midfielder Gardner back to the Midlands for next season.

But Hawthorns chairman Jeremy Peace refused to sanction a £4.7million deal for the 25-year-old in January after a loan bid had failed.
