West Brom starlet Berahino on target as England U21s edge Moldova

England U21s have beaten Moldova 1-0 in their opening qualifier for Euo2015 at the Madejski Stadium in Reading.

The Young Lions produced a winning start under new manager Gareth Southgate with West Bromwich Albion youngster Saido Berahino netting the only goal of the contest in the 14th minute.

Tottenham's Tom Carroll, who recently joined QPR on loan, played a lovely through ball into the bath of Burundi-born Berahino who fired home from an angle.

Southgate's side could have won comfortably if it wasn't for a number of missed chances in the second half but nevertheless they began their Euro qualifying campaign with a handy three points ahead of Monday's trip to Tampere to take on Finland.
