West Bromwich Albion midfielder Morgan Amalfitano has shut the door on returning to parent club Olympique Marseille.

The on-loan Baggies man claimed Marseille, who eventually loaned him to Albion, planted inaccurate stories in the French media.

He said: "During the transfer window, they tried to derail my chances.

"They allowed stories to snowball that were created in the press that I was going to sign for so-and-so club when it wasn't true."
