West Brom are preparing a £2 million bid for Stoke City striker James Beattie.

The Sun says Stoke manager Tony Pulis is ready to let former England and Southampton star Beattie go.

The pair clashed in the dressing rooms last season after the 2-0 defeat at Arsenal - they rowed over plans for the players' Christmas party.

Now Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo could offer Beattie a way out of the Britannia Stadium although his wage demands could be a sticking point.
