West Brom, Sheffield Utd move for Tottenham's Routledge

West Brom and Sheffield United are chasing a loan deal for Tottenham winger Wayne Routledge.

Albion boss Mowbray has revamped his Hawthorns squad since losing to Derby in last season's play-off final at Wembley.

He has added 13 new players to his pool after selling Diomansy Kamara, Jason Koumas, Paul McShane, Nathan Ellington and Curtis Davies.

But he sees the loan capture of Tottenham winger Routledge as the final piece of his transfer jigsaw, according to The Mirror, but faces stiff competition from former Baggies chief Bryan Robson, who wants to lure him to Bramall Lane.

Spurs are believed to have offered Routledge in a cash-plus-player offer for centre-back Davies, who ended up joining Aston Villa after Albion failed to agree a deal with Martin Jol's Spurs.

But the 22-year-old wideman may jump at the chance of a White Hart Lane exit after seeing right-wing rival Aaron Lennon return to fitness.
