West Brom sent Davies to Villa with fine

Curtis Davies was given a final send-off by West Brom after completing his dream move to Aston Villa - by being fined a week's wages.

The News of the World says Davies was stunned when chairman Jeremy Peace refused to drop the decision to fine him £10,000 for refusing to play for the Baggies.

Peace was furious when Davies told Albion boss Tony Mowbray he did not want to be considered for any of their games after slapping in a transfer request. And Peace ordered Davies to still pay up after sealing his loan move to Villa on the day before the transfer deadline slammed shut.
