West Bromwich Albion full-back Steven Reid has accepted responsibility for the 2-1 loss to Wigan Athletic on the weekend.
The Irish defender gave the Baggies the lead with a free-kick just after the half-hour mark at The Hawthorns before the Latics responded with two goals and Reid has put his hand up for giving away the winning penalty which was converted by Jordi Gomez in the 57th minute.
"I blame myself for the defeat. I should have stayed on my feet and unfortunately we couldn't get anything out of the game.
"We have conceded a few penalties this season and you never like giving away cheap goals like that.
"We played pretty well on Saturday, second half especially, and I hold myself responsible for their winning goal.""I'm disappointed overall. I would have rather not scored and got a result," he told the Express & Star.
