James Morrison will miss West Bromwich Albion's clash with Newcastle United tomorrow night but should be back for Boxing Day.
The Scotland international, who scored a brilliant volley in the weekend's 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers, sustained a hamstring strain in the same game and will be sidelined until they host Manchester City after Christmas.
"Unfortunately, with the game coming so close to the last one, it wasn't enough time.
"But I'm hopeful he'll be fit for Monday.""James has a slight hamstring problem but we're hopeful it will clear up before the weekend," Baggies boss Roy Hodgson told the club's official website.
