West Brom's Morrison: England goal highlight of my Scotland career

James Morrison was beaming to have scored the opening goal in Scotland's 3-2 friendly loss to England at Wembley on Wednesday night.

The West Bromwich Albion midfielder, born in England, hit a well-struck effort that made its way past Three Lions goalkeeper Joe Hart in the 11th minute of the first clash between the two nations since 1999.

Despite his side losing, Morrison was absolutely thrilled to have hit the back of the net against the Auld Enemy.

"It was definitely the highlight of my career," said Morrison.

"I'm lost for words. It will take a few weeks for it to sink in.

"I got it out of my feet and I thought 'I'm going to hit this' and obviously it went in to the back of the net, it was a great feeling.

"Joe Hart is a great keeper and he does save a lot of long shots but it was solid strike and it moved a bit. I am delighted.

"But I would have like a win more than a goal."
