West Bromwich Albion striker Shane Long has been recalled to Giovanni Trapattoni's Republic of Ireland squad.
The 25-year old was left out of Trapattoni's group for next week's friendly with Greece because of a hamstring problem but he is now back in contention after getting through the Baggies' 2-0 victory over Southampton last night.
Long has now proved his fitness to be back for Ireland which is a major boost for Trapattoni and his men who have kicked off their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign with six points from three outings to sit third in Group C.
