West Brom’s Haber to trial with St Johnstone

West Bromwich Albion striker Marcus Haber has been invited to trial with Scottish club St Johnstone.

West Bromwich Albion striker Marcus Haber has been invited to trial with Scottish club St Johnstone.

The 22-year old Canadian, who has been told by the Baggies that they will not activate a further 12 months on his deal, spent last season on loan with the Saints but sustained a serious knee injury in November.

Now the club have decided to give him the chance to win a contract at McDiarmid Park with manager Derek McInnes confirming the news.

"There is a good chance one or two players will be coming in over the next week or so,” he told The Courier.

"Marcus will join us in pre-season so we can have a look at him. He has recovered fully from the injury he received playing for us.

"He is back home in Canada just now working on his fitness and playing charity and bounce games.

"We are looking for pace and a bit of invention. We want to add quality at the top end of the pitch,” he added.
