Graham Dorrans has also been ruled out of Scotland's squad for this weekend's World Cup qualifiers against Belgium and Macedonia.
The West Bromwich Albion midfielder joins club teammate James Morrison on the sidelines but his reason for withdrawing has not yet been disclosed whilst Morrison misses with a groin problem.
