Steve Clarke admits he needs to bring more players into his West Bromwich Albion squad.
The Baggies were beaten 1-0 at home by Southampton on Saturday to kick off their Premier League campaign with a defeat and prompting Clarke to delve back into the transfer market before the end of August.
"I think every manager will say that they want to strengthen," he said.
"I think we showed enough today to show that we're going to be competitive again in the Premier League.
"The big decision went against us."
Albion were beaten by a 90th minute penalty converted by Rickie Lambert after Youssouf Mulumbu fouled Luke Shaw in the area.
