West Brom's Brunt: We owe Villa

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Chris Brunt admits the club owes their Midlands rivals Aston Villa a bit of revenge.

The ninth-placed Baggies make the short trip to Birmingham to take on Villa this weekend and Brunt has urged his side to maintain their good recent run and heap some misery on Gerard Houllier's struggling outfit.

"A lot of people would probably say it is a good time to play Aston Villa," said Brunt.

"They have had some poor results recently. They have had a bit of a rough time. The fact they are low on confidence might play into our hands as we are the opposite at the minute.

"It is one we are looking forward to and believe we can win the game. We owe Villa a couple of games from the last time we were in the Premier League."

He also feels that West Brom can rise above other Midlands rivals such as Stoke, Birmingham and Wolves and grab the highest table position come seasons end.

"Birmingham, Aston Villa and Wolves have that little bit more Premier League experience than us, but we are the highest Midlands team at the minute," he added.

"You have to think big to achieve and things have been going pretty well lately."
