West Brom result fair but I am not pleased - West Ham manager Bilic

Slaven Bilic's West Ham United team was left to rue it's inefficiency in front of goal in the wake of Sunday's home clash with West Bromwich Albion.

The Hammers led 1-0 at half-time but were pegged back early in the second half to be held to an eventual 1-1 draw at Upton Park.

Bilic's side dominated the first half and could have been further ahead if the likes of Cheikhou Kouyate, Victor Moses and Diafra Sakho had not missed scoring chances, and if Baggies keeper Boaz Myhill had not done well to deny Manuel Lanzini on two occasions.

In the end, however, Mauro Zarate's brilliant early free-kick was cancelled out by substitute Rickie Lambert whose effort was deflected in by Winston Reid, denying the East Londoners maximum points on home soil.

Billie said: "It's a fair result over 90 minutes, they deserved something from the second half - but in the first half we should have been more than 1-0 up.

"After the goal until the end of the first half we created three or four chances, and their 'keeper made some great saves.

"At half-time we were pleased with the way we had played. But by four o'clock I was not pleased with the result."

West Ham's winless run extended to four matches which has them now sitting eighth on the Premier League table with 22 points from 14 matches.
