West Brom ready to welcome back Brunt and Bednar
West Brom are ready to welcome back key players Chris Brunt and Roman Bednar for this weekend’s home clash against Watford.
Northern Ireland international Brunt has been out with a calf injury since the start of the month whilst Czech striker Bednar has missed the last two matches with a back problem but Baggies boss Roberto Di Matteo is hopeful the pair will be fit for the visit of the Hornets.
“We’re hoping Roman will train on Thursday. He’s been doing some rehab with Richie last week, yesterday and today,” Di Matteo told the Birmingham Mail.
“And then hopefully tomorrow, if everything goes to plan, he will be able to join the squad.
“Roman is a big player for us and so is Chris Brunt, and so are (Ishmael )Miller and (James) Morrison.
“Chris Brunt had his first training session with us yesterday and let’s hope he can get through the week well and we will see how he is on Saturday.
“He was frustrated with the injury because he needs continuity to get into good form and good shape to produce.”
