West Bromwich Albion could sign Birmingham City goalkeeper Ben Foster permanently in January.

The keeper, 28, is on loan at The Hawthorns from Birmingham until next summer.

But Baggies chiefs may make a move before then, knowing cash-strapped Blues will be forced to balance their books.

West Brom sporting director Dan Ashworth said: "We would have to consider it."
