West Brom hope to close a deal for Manchester United defender Jonny Evans in the coming days.

The Sun says the Baggies have targeted Evans after a £5m move for Tottenham's Federico Fazio collapsed at the 11th hour last week.

United want £12m for the Northern Ireland international but Hawthorns chiefs are looking to land him for a cut-price fee.

Despite the difference in valuations, boss Tony Pulis is hopeful of finalising the switch by the weekend.
