West Bromwich Albion are ready to open new contract talks with Saido Berahino.
The Birmingham Mail says the Baggies want to tie Berahino down to a new contract.
Tony Pulis is keen to make a statement to prove to Albion fans that their is genuine ambition at the club for the coming season.
He wants to see talks stepped up with Berahino who is now back at the club having treatment on a knee injury that forced him out of the European Under-21 Finals.
Pulis wants to build a team around the 21-year-old. His summer targets are being groomed to complement Berahino and not replace him.
