West Bromwich Albion manager Roy Hodgson has confirmed that the club are pursuing Dundee United young gun Scott Allan.
There have been strong rumours that the Baggies have agreed a £400,000 fee with the Scottish outfit for the 22-year old and Hodgson has indicated that he could be on his way to The Hawthorns in January.
"He keeps me informed and the last I heard, talks were going well.
"Dan likes the player and thinks he's got an interesting future and, as a coach, you've always got to be happy when the club is looking to sign talented players who could be something for you in the future.
"I've only seen him on video and have given my opinion as to whether we're in the right ball park as regards the player.
"We certainly would be in the right ball park with the player.""Dan Ashworth has been in talks with Dundee United and has followed the player - I've left it up to him," said Hodgson.
