West Brom ponder move for QPR defender Caulker

West Bromwich Albion are weighing up a bid for QPR defender Steven Caulker, casting doubt over his future at Loftus Road.

Baggies boss Tony Pulis will wait for the results of a report on Caulker's fitness before approaching the London club with a bid.

Caulker is set to be amongst the summer exodus at Loftus Road, which will see QPR attempt to rebalance their books after being relegated last season.

The R's are reported to be reluctant to sell the 23-year-old, but with the defender's wages topping more than £30,000-a-week, he may still be sold by the Hoops to cut costs.

Pulis is keen to refresh his back four, as three of his centre-backs are over the age of 30.

Albion are also looking to tie up a deal for QPR winger Matt Phillips and may well look to put a deal in place to sign both players this summer.
