West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that they have opened discussions with Birmingham City regarding the permanent signing of Ben Foster.
The 29-year old goalkeeper spent last season on loan with the Baggies who are now keen to get him to The Hawthorns on a permanent basis and have begun talks with the Blues about that possibility.
"If we can't, then no problem we'll have to move on, but it's down to discussions with them.
"As with every transfer, the selling club has 'X' in mind and the buying club only value at 'Y' so you hope that you find a tipping point that suits both parties. If you don't then the transfer doesn't happen.""We've started discussions with Birmingham City and we hope we can find a solution that suits them and suits us," Albion's technical director Dan Ashworth told Express & Star.
