West Bromwich Albion assistant manager Keith Downing can see Ben Foster ending his England exile for the Euros.

Downing also believes Roy Hodgson's appointment of Dave Watson as England goalkeeping coach for Euro 2012 may persuade Foster to end his England retirement.

Foster worked with Watson last season at Birmingham before moving to the Baggies on loan.

Downing said: "I know Roy has spoken to Ben a couple of times on a personal basis.

"I have had no indications as to what was said, that's a private matter, but the fact Dave Watson is the coach might tip it.

"I think there was a good relationship between Dave and Ben and also Dave and Joe Hart from his loan spell at Birmingham."
