West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Scott Carson has sympathy for West Ham United's Robert Green over his World Cup howler.

Carson experienced something similar for England during the Euro2010 qualifiers.

"I do feel for him," he told the WBA website. "It has happened to me and it has happened to other keepers in the past.

"It's happened to every keeper that has played the game. But in our cases it has been more highlighted. He'd probably have wanted to get back onto the field and try and make up for the error.

"But I'm sure he'll come back strong next season. I think the media makes more of it than the person themselves

"I forgot about it the next day and tried to move on, as I'm sure Robert has.

"But people always ask you about it and I'm sure Robert will get that for the next 12 months."
