West Brom caretaker boss Gary Megson has banished coach Ben Garner from the training ground.
The Express & Star says Megson is keen to have one clear message going to the players following the sacking of Tony Pulis on Monday.
However, claims that the move had angered Albion players and that they were prepared to take grievances to boardroom level have been derided at the club.
Megson is eager to avoid any confusion among the players ahead of the clash as he and Garner have widely differing coaching methods in preparing the side.
Meanwhile, former Newcastle striker Mick Quinn has questioned Albion's move for Alan Pardew.
Quinn told talkSPORT: “He has an impact straight away and then after a certain amount of time he goes on long losing runs. He did it at Palace, he did it at Newcastle.
“The losing run he went on as West Ham manager was the longest for 70-odd years which resulted in him getting the sack - and they lost to Chesterfield in a League Cup game as well.
"He could make a quick impact at West Brom if he gets the job but I wouldn't give him a two-year, three-year contract.
"If it was a straight choice between Allardyce and Alan, it would be Allardyce."
