West Bromwich Albion recruit Gareth McAuley admits it is a dream come true to finally make it to the Premier League.
The 31-year old Northern Ireland international this week signed a three-year deal with the Baggies after spending the last few seasons with Ipswich Town and says it is something he has been eyeing for a while.
"I am trying to keep the excitement in but I'm like a kid in a candy shop inside," he told Express and Star.
"It's a great thing to have to look forward to but I've got a lot of hard work over the summer and over the coming seasons to try to establish myself at this level. It's been a bit of a whirlwind since the end of the season.
"I knew of the interest and had a few other clubs in for me but coming here got me really excited and I am delighted to be here.
"This is where I wanted to come.
"It's a fantastic club, I have played against them a few times, played at The Hawthorns and experienced the atmosphere and I have actually scored there, although I'd better not mention that too much!
"They are a great club who want to move forward, cement themselves in the Premier League and become a top club."
