West Bromwich Albion have moved to trump QPR for Newcastle United fullback Danny Simpson.
The Daily Mail says West Brom have made a late effort to sign defender Simpson ahead of his proposed move to QPR on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old had attracted interest from Italian side Torino but was keen to move to London where Harry Redknapp was keen on recruiting him on a free transfer.
