West Bromwich Albion midfielder James Morrison is stunned by the criticism of England's appointment of Roy Hodgson as new coach.
Morrison scored a late equaliser at Bolton on Sunday as Albion came from two goals down to earn Hodgson a point in his last away game in charge.
"It's shocking," he said. "That's people for you. It's just the way it is.
"If you're perceived to have failed anywhere you get criticised. Maybe with more time he could have done a better job at Liverpool. You never know.
"Hopefully Roy can do the job he's done for us with England. He's been in the game long enough to know what he's doing and to handle the pressure. I'm sure he will turn people's heads."
