West Brom will attempt to convince Kevin Phillips to sign a new contract this week.

The Daily Mail says the Baggies will meet with Phillips's representatives this week to try and thrash out a new deal for the former England striker.

Albion will know by the end of the month whether Phillips will be part of their squad for the new Premier League campaign.

Phillips would like a two-year deal at The Hawthorns but he may have to compromise on certain conditions.

Stoke City, QPR and Leeds have all joined Derby in a waiting game to see if Phillips stays with Tony Mowbray's side.
