Japanese goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima is the subject of intense interest from West Bromwich Albion.
According to reports in the Far East, Kawashima's Belgian club Lierse SK have received an initial bid from West Brom and a deal appears likely.
West Brom had been keeping tabs on Kawashima for a while now and made an enquiry on the player's availability in March.
"I'm always hoping that I can play in a more competitive league one day, especially in an English-speaking country," said Kawashima.
