West Bromwich Albion are edging closer to landing Birmingham City defender Liam Ridgewell.
The Mirror says Albion have tried again for versatile defender Ridgewell, bidding £1.5million plus a fringe player.
Birmingham rejected the new offer and are holding out for the £2m they paid Aston Villa for the player in 2007.
Ridgewell, 27, handed in a transfer request in the summer and remains determined to quit St Andrew's for Premier League football.
