West Brom look to Gera for Arsenal meeting

West Bromwich Albion have withdrawn Zoltan Gera for the midweek reserves match so he can play against Arsenal on the weekend.

The former Fulham man was pulled out of the Baggies second side to take on Chelsea so he can make a second debut for the West Midlands club who he left for Southwest London in 2008.

"He's been pulled out with a view to Saturday," Baggies assistant Michael Appleton told the club's official website.

"He's had three weeks of training now and what you have to weigh up is what's best - 45 minutes in a reserve-team fixture or an hour-and-a-half training session working hard in preparation for a game on Saturday?

"We just thought another session in and around the players - and most of the players that are going to be involved on Saturday - is better."
