Skysports.com claims that Atletico Madrid player Pablo Ibanez has flown to England to have a medical with a Premier League club, thought to be West Brom. The 28-year-old central defender joined Atletico in 2004 from hometown club Albacete but was only a bit-part player last term, making just four La Liga starts.

Roberto Di Matteo's side have been linked with the Spanish international as they seek to stay in the top-flight after winning promotion from the Championship last term.

The 28-year-old would be available on a free transfer, with a three-year contract thought to have been offered.
