West Bromwich Albion legend John Wile has welcomed the appointment of Steve Clarke as new head coach.
Wile, who made 619 senior appearances for the club during the 1970s and 1980s and returned to be chief executive, believes Albion have made a wise choice.
He told the Sunday Mercury: "If he had the chance to manage a club, even a big club like Chelsea, he would be ready for that. He is that good.
"He is an intelligent guy and always looking to improve. He has a good relationship with the players and knows how to handle them."
