"I know Alan Irvine and I like him; I know that he is a very well thought of coach.
"But the fact is that he has had a couple of 'pops' at management and it hasn't gone well for him and now he has been put in charge of the team on the back of a very turbulent year.
"Jeremy has made some great decisions down the years.
"But this is another which will leave the fans desperately hoping he has got it right after a couple of moves he would admit himself didn't work out."
