West Bromwich Albion legend Cyrille Regis says England coach Roy Hodgson is right to hold back Saido Berahino.
Regis has been impressed with Berahino, who has 12 goals for club and country this season, but believes he needs time to develop before stepping up from the England Under-21s.
He said: "He's simply too inexperienced for England. In a year's time, if he is still scoring goals on a regular basis, playing every week for West Brom then, yes, give him a crack at the senior team.
"A footballer needs to understand and be able to cope with the pressures that such a status brings."
